I am a content writter I can still imagine in my head the first time I ever bought Allman Brothers band tickets. I was a teenager and just experiencing classic rock.. It was quite an eye opener to me, really. Growimg up listening to the radio. My folks had some old Jefferson airplane records, but they hardly ever played them. Mostly, they listened to classical music, which I couldn't get into. When one of my buddies played some Derek and the Dominoes records for me, it was the best thing I had ever listen to! Not long after I was listening to every classic rock album that I could get my fingers on from that era. My favorite was the Allman Brothers band.
When I found out that they were still around, and were coming to town in the near future, I had to get Allman Brothers tickets. Needless to say, my folks were a little bit anxious about it. I think it was probably guilt caused by their own memories of youthful excesses. They were nervous that, if I started to go to shows and listen to classic rock, I would get into the bad life style. I assured them that I would be an angel, and after a long talk they agreed to let me go. I standed in line for ever and ever for those Allman Brothers tickets to go on sale. Sadlt enough, a bunch of people got their even earlier than me, and by the time I got to the ticket counter I was worried that all the best seats would be sold out. Fortunately, they were playing in an outside pavilion with a big grassy open seating area. I wouldn't be right in the front with the vip seats, but I wouldn't be stuck way in the back either.
It was not so painfull standing in line for the Allman Brothers tickets. My best bud was there with me, and we talked and played around the whole time. He enjoyed to play older and wiser because he had gone to a couple of concerts by himself. You see, his father played in a local band on occations, So he acted like he knew everything about music. He did know alot compared to me. The whole time we were standing in line for those Allman Brothers tickets, he was giving me a lecture on the history of classic rock. None of it, however, helped me prepare myself for the actual Allman Brothers concert. Maybe it was because it was my first show, but I still beleive it is one of the best concerts I have ever witnessed.
